MPhil Programme in Medical Immunology

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The programme shall be opened to candidates who possess Bachelor of Science in any Medical, Biological, Agricultural, Dietetics or Medical Laboratory Sciences degree with a minimum of 2nd Class (Lower) from any recognized university. Candidates who possess MBChB or equivalent from a recognized university may also apply. All candidates shall be required to go through a selection procedure. Candidates with a 3rd class who have relevant experience will be considered.
DURATION OF PROGRAMME
The duration of the programme shall normally be for Four (4) semesters of 24 months duration.

PROPOSED DATE OF COMMENCEMENT
The revised programme is expected to start in the 2025/2026 academic year.

REQUIREMENTS FOR GRADUATION
The following credits need to be obtained to enable a candidate graduate with an MPhil in Medical Immunology: Two-Year Master’s Degree (Thesis Option) 
YEAR 1
Course work                  24 – 36 credits
Seminar I                       3 credits
YEAR 2
Seminar II                      3 credits                                         
Thesis                           30 credits
A student will therefore need a total of between 60-72 credits to graduate
For a student to be in good standing he/she must:
1.     pass a minimum of 24 graduate level credits by the end of the course work 
2.    pass all core courses
3.    Obtain a final GPA of 2.50 or better by the end of the course work.
Candidate(s) who fail to meet the above stated requirement at the end of their graduate course work would be deemed to have failed and shall be asked to withdraw.
