Mr. Kwaku Amponsah is the Assistant Registrar in-charge of General Administration. His career with the University began in 2005 with his appointment as a Principal Administrative Assistant. He rose through the ranks to become a Chief Administrative Assistant in 2007 and an Assistant Registrar in 2009. Prior to 2005, he worked as the Programmes Officer at the Center for Management and Institutional Development. (CIMD) in Accra.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with Linguistics degree (1991-1994) degree from the University of Ghana, Legon. He also holds a Master’s in Public Administration degree (1996-1998) from the same University.
Mr. Amponsah is in charge of supervision and maintenance of estates, housing matters, maintenance of the College’s grounds and office equipment. Among other things, he is the liaison with the College Transport Officer on transportation issues, the College Security Officer on security matters and the Physical Development and Municipal Services Directorate on physical development matters of the College.
He also serves as Secretary to some statutory and ad-hoc committees of the College. Amongst them are the College Tender Committee, College Finance and Development Committee, College Hostel Committee and the College Security Committee.
Under the Collegiate System of governance, Mr. Amponsah’s vision for the College is a System that will be embraced by all as a viable component in a university that is rapidly expanding.
With increasing student and staff numbers, Mr. Amponsah also hopes to see a College that is able to expand and modernize its infrastructure such as: Lecture halls, Laboratories, hostels, staff accommodation ICT laboratories, etc and properly manage them to a standard that benefits the College’s reputation.
He has research interest particularly in the areas of procurement practice in tertiary institutions, time management in public institutions etc.
