Provost

Prof. Julius Fobil is a professor of environmental health with an outstanding academic career at the University of Ghana School of Public Health; having contributed significantly to the field of environmental Epidemiology in Ghana and beyond. He has over a hundred (100 )peer-review publications in the field and has trained more than 80 students at the undergraduate level and doctoral to post-doctoral level.

He is a fellow of the Collegium Ramazzini, an international academy of international renowned fellows in environmental and occupational health and a fellow of the Ghana Academy of Arts and Science.

He is the current Provost of the College of Health Sciences having previously served as Dean in the School of Public Health. He is also an associate scientist at the Bernhard Nocht Institute of Tropical Medicine in Hamburg.

His research focuses on environmental exposure assessment, urban environmental health in low-income economies and more recently, he has been involved in research capacity building in environmental health in the West and Central African Regions.

He was appointed as the 6th Provost of the College on 1st August 2021 for a renewable three-year term
