Mr. Michael Opare Atuah joined the University of Ghana in January, 1998 as Principal Administrative Assistant in the then University of Ghana Medical School. He was appointed as an Assistant Registrar in January, 1999 and promoted to the rank of Senior Assistant Registrar in January, 2008. By dint of hard work, he was once again promoted to Deputy Registrar in March, 2015.

Mr. Atuah holds M. Phil. (Public Administration) from the University of Bergen, Norway in 1997. He was awarded B.A. Hons. (Political Science with Philosophy) by the University of Ghana, Legon in 1993. He has been a member of the Chartered Institute of Administrators and Management Consultants Ghana since 2005. He holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management from the International Professional Managers Association, England also since November, 2005.

Before his appointment as the Ag. College Secretary of the College of Health Sciences, he had worked as the School Administrator of the School of Medicine and Dentistry from 1st August, 2014 to 31st July, 2016. From August, 2010 to July, 2014, he worked as the Acting Executive Secretary of the former University of Ghana Medical School (UGMS). He also worked as the Faculty Officer of the former University of Ghana Dental School (UGDS) from January 1999–July 2010.

Mr. Atuah has served and continues to serve on a number of Boards and Committees in the University. Amongst them are the CHS Advisory Board School Management Committee Appointments Sub-Committee, Education Committee and Twinning Implementation Committee, Committee on the Status of the Dental Clinic in addition to several Search Committees.

In March, 2012, Mr. Atuah was adjudged the Best Administrator/Professional Staff for 2011 in the College of Health Sciences.

Mr. Atuah is an elder of the Church of Pentecost and has been the Area Deacon of the La Area of the Church since 2013 to date and also the Presiding Elder of the Survey Assembly, in the Roman Ridge District of the church since 2012 to date.

His hobbies are football, walking and gardening/farming.
