College of Health Sciences Organises Easter Service

The College of Health Sciences, under the auspices of the College Chaplaincy Board, has organised the 2019 Annual Easter Service at the College of Health Sciences Examinations Hall in Korle Bu.

The Provost of the College Rev. Prof. Patrick F. Ayeh-Kumi, who was the Guest of Honour for the service gave the welcome message. In his welcome message, he expressed his excitement about the number of staff and students that made it to the service. He described it as one of the best he had witnessed in recent times.

Song ministration was given by the following choirs: School of Nursing & Midwifery (SoNM), School of Biomedical and Allied Health Sciences (SBAHS), Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research, School of Pharmacy (SOP) and the Korle-Bu Christian Network (KCN).

The sermon was given by Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Tsegah. His sermon was themed “why seek ye the living among the dead?”-Luke 24:5. In his sermon, he encouraged the staff and students to work with due diligence, knowing that one day, they will have to account to their maker.

In an interview with Rev. Stanley Amankwa, a member of the College Chaplaincy Board, he stated that the programme started two years ago and was an initiative of the Provost, Rev. Professor Patrick F. Ayeh-Kumi in order to allow Christians of the College to give thanks and remember the death and resurrection of Christ.  He continued that organising 2019 edition of the programme was not challenging at all because invitations sent to the various schools under the College were positively responded to.

He described the year 2019 edition of the programme as a success.  He hoped that next year’s edition will even be much better.

The Easter Service was organised to prepare for the upcoming Good Friday and Easter festivities.
