Council Chair Pays Working Visit to Korle Bu Campus

Welcoming the delegation, the Provost of the College of Health Sciences, Professor Julius Fobil was grateful to the Chair of Council and her team for making time to visit the Korle Bu Campus of the University. He indicated that the College was made up of six schools, 0ne research institute and three centres.

He added that three of the schools and one centre were situated on the Korle Bu Campus while three schools, the institute and two centres are on the Legon Campus. The Provost added the College of Health Scienecs was the first College to be established by the University in 1999. According to him, the College lacks a lot of infrastructural facilities so he pleaded with the Chair to use her networks to assist the College to improve on its infrastructural facilities and add on new ones.

Rt. Hon. Justice Akufo (Rtd) indicated the visit was to afford her the opportunity to see for herself the facilities of the University to be able to determine what could be done to improve them.

The Team was taken round the facilities of the College including the Charles Easmon Building which houses the College Administration, the Hostels including the International Students’ Hostel, the Dental School, the Basic Sciences Building, the Medical School Administration, School of Biomedical and Allied Health Scienecs Administration and some departmental buildings.

Among the Council Chair’s Team were, Mrs. Emelia Agyei-Mensah, the Registrar, Mr. Kofinti, Director of PDMSD, Mrs. Elizier Ameyaw-Buronya, Director of Public Affairs and Mr. Boakye, Deputy Director of PDMSD.

The Provost was also accompanied by Professor Ebenezer Anno-Nyako, Ag. Dean of the University of Ghana Dental School, Mr. Michael Opare Atuah, College Secretary and some other senior members of the College.
