Kingdom Books and Stationery Ltd Commissions a Branch on Korle-Bu Campus

Kingdom Books and Stationery Limited has commissioned a branch on the Korle-Bu Campus of the College of Health Sciences.

Welcoming the audience to the commissioning, the Provost of the College, Reverend Professor Patrick Ferdinand Ayeh-Kumi mentioned that the idea of a bookshop on the Korle-Bu Campus was long conceived . He recalled that there was a bookshop on the Korle-Bu Campus when he started work as young a faculty at the University of Ghana Medical School. According to him, when the idea of the bookshop was once again conceived, they had to look for someone they could partner, and fortunately Kingdom Books and Stationery Limited led by the Managing Director, Mr. Peter Gyateng came to the aid of the College. He was thankful to God and the team for making it a reality.

The Managing Director of Kingdom Books and Stationery Limited, Mr. Peter Gyateng in his address expressed his pleasure working with the team from the College of Health Sciences. He mentioned that Kingdom Books and Stationery Limited had been in the system for over 30 years. He cited some of their branches on some University campuses in the country as; Kwame Nkrumah University of Sciences and Technology, University of Cape Coast, and the University of Ghana (Legon Campus). According to him, provision had been made for students, faculty and staff of the College to benefit from the bookshop. He further indicated that without resources, structures would be useless. He urged staff and students to patronise the bookshop. He thanked the Provost and the team for the successful completion of the project.

The Director of Physical Development and Municipal Services Directorate (PDMSD), Mr, Charles Kofi Nti expressed his joy for the successful completion and commissioning of the bookshop. He recalled how Kingdom Books and Stationery Limited approached the University a year ago to establish a branch on the Korle-Bu Campus after successfully rebranding the main bookshop on Legon Campus. He indicated that the bookshop had been furnished with over 3,000 books for the benefit of faculty, staff and students. He thanked all stakeholders that made the project a reality.

The first Provost of the College, Reverend Emeritus Professor Seth Andrews Ayettey, assisted by the current Provost, Reverend Professor Patrick Ferdinand Ayeh-Kumi dedicated and commissioned the bookshop.

Present at the ceremony were; Professor Aaron Lawson, former Provost, Professor Anthony Andrew Adjei, Office of the Vice-Chancellor and Former Deputy Provost, Professor Joseph Darkwah Seffah, former Deputy Provost, Prof. Margaret Lartey, Dean, University of Ghana Medical School, Prof. Ebenezer Anno-Nyarko, Ag. Dean, University of Ghana Dental School, Mr. Solomon Bayugo Sulemani, former College Librarian. The Deans were accompanied by their School Administrators.
