The College of Health Sciences (CHS), University of Ghana, hosted delegates from Brunel University London, United Kingdom, for a collaborative engagement with the University of Ghana Older Adults Reference Group (UGORG) from 31st March to 1st April 2026.

The engagement, facilitated through the Health Professions Education Unit (HPEU), provided an opportunity for faculty members, students, and delegates from Brunel University to work collaboratively with members of UGORG on a range of measurements, observations, and assessments. The activities provided valuable opportunities for knowledge exchange, practical learning, and collaborative research, while contributing to a deeper understanding of the experiences, health, and well-being of older adults.

The collaboration forms part of ongoing efforts by the University of Ghana and Brunel University London to strengthen international partnerships in research, health professions education, and community engagement. It also demonstrates the value of involving older adults as active contributors to research and education, ensuring that their lived experiences and perspectives inform research and interventions relating to ageing.

The engagement further reflects the University of Ghana’s commitment to promoting inclusive, participatory, and evidence-informed approaches to healthy ageing. Through UGORG, the College of Health Sciences continues to create opportunities for older adults to contribute meaningfully to research, education, and community engagement, while supporting intergenerational learning and the development of responsive health and social interventions.

The collaboration represents an important step in strengthening institutional partnerships and advancing research and education that contribute to improved health and well-being across the life course.
