College of Health Sciences, led by the Provost, Prof. Edwin Alfred Yawson, paid a courtesy call on the Member of Parliament for Ablekuma South Constituency, Hon. Alfred Oko Vanderpuije

As part of the effort to strengthen the engagement and partnership priority of the University's new strategic plan, the leadership of the College of Health Sciences, led by the Provost, Prof. Edwin Alfred Yawson, paid a courtesy call on the Member of Parliament for Ablekuma South Constituency, Hon. Alfred Oko Vanderpuije. Other members of the delegation were Prof. Jonathan Quartey, Chairman of the Health Professions Education Committee; Kwame Obeng-Yeboah, College HR Officer and Secretary to the Health Professions Education Committee; and Ms. Cynthia Asantewaa Boateng, the College Academic Officer.

During the engagement, the Provost offered the College’s condolences to the Honorable MP on the loss of his mother.

Further solidifying the spirit of the partnership, the Chairman of the Health Professions Education Committee extended an invitation to the Honorable MP to serve as the Chairman for the official launch of the University of Ghana Older Adults Reference Group (UGORG). The UGORG is a pioneering initiative designed to engage older adults, aged 60 and above, as active and valued contributors to research, education, and community engagement within the University.

This visit reflects the College’s commitment to fostering meaningful partnerships and collaborations with key stakeholders in pursuit of the University’s strategic vision.
