CHS Management Extends Condolences to Dean of SBAHS on the Passing of His Mother

The Management of the College of Health Sciences (CHS), University of Ghana, on Friday, 7 August 2026, paid a courtesy visit to Professor Samuel Sarpong Antwi-Baffour, Dean of the School of Biomedical and Allied Health Sciences (SBAHS), at his residence to express its deepest condolences to him and his family following the passing of his beloved mother.

Professor Antwi-Baffour's mother passed away in Belgium following a period of ill health. The visit by College Management was a demonstration of the College's commitment to the welfare of its faculty and staff, particularly during moments of bereavement and personal loss.

During the visit, Management expressed its sympathy to Professor Antwi-Baffour and the bereaved family, assuring them of the College's support and solidarity as they mourned their loss. As part of its gesture of support, the College presented packs of bottled water to the family to assist with arrangements for the one-week observance in memory of the deceased.

The Dean expressed his sincere appreciation to the Provost and Management of the College for the thoughtful gesture and for taking time to visit the family during the difficult period. He noted that the visit was a meaningful demonstration of the College's care and concern for its staff and faculty.

Professor Antwi-Baffour further informed Management that the one-week observance in memory of his mother was scheduled for Saturday, 8 August 2026, at his residence at Adom Estate, Tema Community 25.

Management was also informed that the main funeral rites are scheduled to take place in October at Kintampo. Details of the funeral and burial arrangements will subsequently be communicated to the College to enable faculty and staff who wish to do so to participate in the funeral rites and join the family in mourning the passing of the beloved mother of the Dean.
